Dentist Nambour Covid-19 Update

Follow us on Facebook for our latest updates as they happen.

How has Blackall Terrace Dental been affected?

Following the lockdown of the 11 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in South East Queensland from 02.08.21 to 08.08.21, only certain businesses are able to continue operating. As a healthcare service provider, we continue to stay open, but there are restrictions to help keep our patients, staff and community safe.

On 2 August 2021 and in response to the lockdown, the Australian Dental Association (ADA) implemented Level 3 restrictions to all dental practices within the affected areas for the duration of the lockdown. At Blackall Terrace Dental in Nambour, we take the safety of patients, the team and visitors very seriously and abide by the most recent government and ADA guidelines. With that in mind, we have introduced the Level 3 restrictions across the practice during the lockdown period.

What are Level 3 restrictions?

The restrictions relate to the way your dentist uses aerosols and their dental equipment; the areas of the mouth being treated; the management of higher risk dental issues; and other specifically identified dental appointments. The ADA Level 3 restrictions are in place for dentists and their teams to triage patients and create safe treatment, so we encourage patients to call or get in touch with us and our team will help you find the right appointment.

What does this mean for patients with an appointment during lockdown?

We are contacting everyone with upcoming appointments directly. We will either reschedule the appointment for a time to suit them after the lockdown, or advise that they can still attend. Patients may still attend if their visit is not for treatment currently restricted by the Level 3 ADA guidelines. If you are concerned or have any questions about an upcoming appointment, please call us on 07 5441 3583.

Can I get an urgent dental appointment?

If you are in need of treatment for dental pain, fractures, loose/knocked-out teeth or other urgent dental needs then please call our team on 07 5441 3583 or submit your urgent request online. The key questions we ask help us find the best course of action before offering the next appropriate appointment.

Am I allowed to leave lockdown for a dental appointment?

As per the South East Queensland LGAs 8-day lockdown, "residents in these areas must stay at home except for the following key reasons: . . . 4. Healthcare, including to get a COVID-19 test or vaccination, or to provide help, care or support to a vulnerable person, or for an end-of-life visit to a hospital or aged care facility." Taken from www.covid19.qld.gov.au on 02.08.21. That means that as long as you have spoken to our team who have confirmed that your appointment can continue under ADA Level 3 restrictions and you are following general COVID guidelines, you may attend Blackall Terrace Dental
